Mengting Lyu (she/her/hers)

I earned my B.S. in Life Sciences from Anhui Agricultural University and my M.S. in Crop Science from Zhejiang University in China. Following six years of professional experience in the telecommunications industry, I decided to return to academia to pursue my enduring interest in plant science.

In Spring 2026, I joined the He Lab as a Ph.D. student. My research focuses on the algal carbon-concentrating mechanism (CCM). Specifically, I aim to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying carbon fixation, providing a foundation for future efforts to enhance photosynthetic efficiency and crop yields. I look forward to conducting research that is both personally fulfilling and meaningful to the field.

Outside the lab, I am a fan of traditional Chinese culture and enjoy singing, especially Peking Opera. I also love working out at the gym; it brings me great joy and helps me maintain a healthy balance between my work and life.
